Quick question, Do I need to add the ISTA EMULATOR MOD V3.1? Im assuming that it pertains only to the other posts VM. |

RE: ISTA P 2.51.3 VM
I tried again with a E87 1er, 12/2009 (no 7/8 pin).
- Changed cable mode to D-Can + PT-Can with dcan.exe (...Done) - Started ifhsrv32.exe after plugged in cable As that didn't worked and I still have the same problem like in Post #134 I changed to the new snapshots in Post #136 and downloaded the ICOM Emulator. - Started ICOM Emulator VM + ISSS VM - Networks settings (vmnet2/Host-only) configured - Installed driver in ICOM VM - Set COM Port to 9, Latency 1 - Changed D-Can mode with DCAN.exe to D-Can+PT-Can (...Done) - Started ifhsrv32.exe in ICOM Emu VM I can see the ICOM in ISTA (Network O.K) but the "VIN could not be read from vehicle" - Error stays the same. Just to be sure; the ignition has to be on, true? |

It should start to flash green when ISTA/P tries to connect (Please answer this question). Check in the ICOM vm that you have up to date drivers installed - 2013/2014. I assume when you installed the cable, afterwards you disconnected it from the vm and then reconnected it again so driver change/com port change takes effect (also when unplugging, right click on the dcan usb icon and select disconnect(connect to host). Then unplug. If you just pull it out without doing that it can cause communication/driver errors). Also when you have installed the cable take a new snapshot so that it doesn't ask you to install the drivers again next time. Best to use a USB2 port (not USB3). VMware has problems with USB3. Have you tested your cable using other software to make sure it works ok?. i.e test with inpa, Rheingold or ista/d on the e87. I used the software recently on 2008 E87 and it worked. |

RE: ISTA P 2.51.3 VM
Hello,
I'm wondering how can I exit the ISTA/P so I can set up PASS THRU/PTT drivers/ediabas? Anyone played with that (I have it working natively in Rheingold)? Any info would be appreciated! |

As it didn't work with ISTA / ICOM EMU I tried again today - now I get the Error "IFH 0009 No Response From Control Unit" in INPA. Looks like I have a crappy cable - will order a "better" one and check again. |

I'm using version posted in here and beemerboys snapshots. But if I try to reboot I get the no USB Flash dongle error (as it's the protected) - so I don't know how to change the password/exit the program. Any ideas on how this can be done, anyone? Thank you! EDIT: I found http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/sho...ion-how-to and if I'm not mistaken the error message says that th usb flash drive has to be present on this VM - so I guess this could work for someone that has the usb key? |
