Audi A6 dash
Hello i got a call from friend (car trader) with dashboard temperature problem (and possible fuel gauge problem, he is testing it atm) . He was told from seller it was problem after they changed milleage so he is suspecting it is software problem. Now if i remember i saw similar problems with RB audi dashboards, i tried searching on forums but could not find anything so if anyone had simillar problems?
As he said temperature gauge dont work at all at first and then jumps to some high level and turns on red overheat led. I am sorry i dont have model and numbers of dash since i dont have car here, it is Audi A6 2002 year europe NOT UK version. any help would be grea  |

As i said i am sorry i dont have model since he only called me and he don't know how to recognize it. I would be grateful for any info before i go and check it out (he cant drive it to my shop as car dont have license plates) . I will change tempr sensor easily but they said it happend when they changed mileage...

Ok i told him to do gauge test with vcds and this is result. (link of video in attachment)
I think it is physical needle problem , they did not calibrated them after opening for mileage correction. Or it is stepper motor problem? Is i even possible this to be software problem at all? dash info and test gauge video in attachment... |
