K-DCAN-Cable with ISTA 4 -> Problems while deleting error codes
Hi,
for the old E81 of my wife I am to lazy to connect the icom next. So I am use a old but good K-DCAN cable with real FTDI Chip. This was working great until ISTA changed the way to delete the error codes. Now there is a proccess running that asks for / or automatically turns of the iginition while delting the error codes. The problem is, that my K-DCAN cable is not able to detect the shut down of the ignition. Is my cable to much outdated or ist there a way to troubleshoot this? Thanks a lot! |

RE: K-DCAN-Cable with ISTA 4 -> Problems while deleting error codes
ISTA is not trying to detect ignition with pretty much any other interface than ICOM. So without some external "help" it will not work. You can try my solution http://cartechnology.co.uk/showthread.php?tid=21543 which works for many ISTA versions and does interfere with ICOM or look for voltage control from beemerboy88 made for specific ISTA version.

Hey, K+DCAN cannot detect KL15 or KL30 voltages for this purpose. There are 2 tools that allow you to simulate the voltages. The voltage tool by Node works through Ediabas, while the one by Bimmerboy88 works through ISTA. Both work excellent.

Everything is possible, but there are many ABLs which do that check too, so it is an awful job to repeat it for each version of ISTA... There are much simpler solutions
