Thanks!

Below are the pics. I wonder what those in the know think re the circuitry.

I'd like to know how people can tell if OKI chips (or others) are fake.

Actually i have finally found some very usefull info with regards this by fantomel.

post 15485&page=1 (not sure if can post internal links or not.)

Shouldn't this sort of info be a sticky in something like a buyers guide section?? Mods? What do you think?

RE: Good or Bad Vas5054A
You can post internal links , it's not a problem.
All i can tell you is that VAS is a LQ one.
First look:
1. Wrong BT module (no fw upgrade)
2. Crap 3.3V ram modules
3. Fake OKi ( all of them have it, since ori is not made for years)

I'm very confused by "Fake" OKI chips. I've looked at different spec sheets published by OKI and the markings are not consistent. Also we know they do have factories in Thailand as well as Japan.

Codecard are also selling the msm6636 but without country marking or the usual circular markings.. They are not going to sell duds are they?
This is all very very confusing. so as I said any help appreciated.

HEre are various data sheets. We can see the markings are not always consistent.

RE: Good or Bad Vas5054A
A German seller (posted from germany but I think he is Chinese) is advertising his tool as OKI capable. Price is good (more expensive than average. He told me it can flash control units with O-E. Please let me know what you think.

Is samsung memory chip UF70 5V or 3V?

Should I purchase?

Lets start with the simple ones in order to remove all bad clones. Is this OKI fake??

RE: Good or Bad Vas5054A
Short answer FAKE smile Some time ago user fantomel posted here on forum a picture with a lot of original oki from different vas heads and none of them , even writing looked like that. All of them had 2 marks and one of them was mirror mark.

Make a difference between normal Oki and B model. B model used in tools like old cdp , vas uses model without B

RE: Good or Bad Vas5054A
Also note the BT chip does not appear to be the correct one and the mem is 70 not 10 (or 50 as most are now)

With regards the BT has anybody got an amb2300 they would be willing to take the shield off so we could see the gubins?

RE: Good or Bad Vas5054A
So we exclude
1. The OKI chip above
2. We exclude OKI chips that look original but with the B suffix like M6637B. Is this correct? Like the photos from the German seller above.

Memory 10 is not made anymore by Chinese I believe.

Questions
If we don't care about Bluetooth do we exclude non AMB2300 chips??? I will always use USB.
How do we know memory is 3V or 5V?? We want the 5V.
What is a mirror mark?
Which memory is better before the top which is 10?

I think Chinese should stop selling VAS5054a products. They have failed in producing a perfect clone, and in most cases are using fake chips.

A few more comments that Chinese manufacturers should read.
So why they have not produced a VAS5055 head, which has no Bluetooth and theoretically simpler to manufacture? Having said this, they have copied successfully other diagnostics, however Germans are making this difficult to Chinese to find the proper formula and the proper chips and the proper quality to produce the perfect VAS5054a, which in my eyes does not exist. Thus they are trying to make it look like original but with fake parts. VW has discontinued VAS5054a. I think we should concentrate on VAS5055 when it is made by Chinese, due to incapability to sell their vas5054a sh (sorry for the expression). products.
