EDC17CP45 530d F10 bricked?

I opened the DDE and prepare my Trasdata to read it. After 20 times read failed while connection is ok i give up and close ECU and put it in Car. Now the car doesn't start, ISTA-D says me DDE is not available, ISTA-P failed to reprogram. The ECU looks good, no components are bricked. Anyone has an idea? Is the ecu stuck in bootmode ?

Try to acess ecu with other tool if failed with trasdata...but strange I read/write that ecu with ktag no problem...but few times I had problem on bmw when I read ecu(only read) car didnt start,but after write file back everything ok..like mate buzzard say probably boot mode steel active

Ktag+kess...for bmw...did you open ecu or dril for boot pin?this kind of ecu is easily broken by opening..

Whereabout do you drill?.i always open and hevent drilled an ecu due to concerns about swarf ( metal bits ) shorting out

After a bad opening ecu. can no longer create the second ECU will be ok. costs dearly
