Hello Guys,

I have Range Rover 2004 V8 4.4. BMW electronic system with EWS.

I just bought a new keyfob. A Professional mechanic told me that he needs the EWS to program the new transponder.

Here is what I did:
Disconnected battery
Disassembled center console and take out the EWS box
He cut the new key and programmed the key to slot No.5.
Put back EWS
Connect battery
Result: Now both the new key and the old key not turning ignition. Its locked.

I dont hear the steering lock clicking also.

I called the mechanic and he said that it has never been happened before.
He said that maybe the EWS needs to be synced with the ECU again.

I’ve done the battery hard reset (disconnected both battery cables and tocuh them together) but still nothing.

Any ideas?

did you make a diagnose to the car to check what is the problem ?
make sure that socket of ews is connected good
and try to make new key from the file that is saved by your mechanic without disasembling any thing
check battery voltage
and report
