Hello,
as the title might insinuate I'm newbie at this. I have a tl866a programmer for hobby projects but it's not capable to read and reflash the 68HC912D60 from the airbag's ecu and change the vin of the old car (bosh 0 285 001 537, 8200 375 763/--A, ab8.x) from a 2004 renault clio k4j.

so is there a low cost tool that might turn useful in the future?

Do you know if I can buy only the upa or carprog main unit and jumpwire from the connector to the ecu's pcb without getting adaptors? because, in my opinion, since I'm not a car guy, every tool mentioned cost a little too much for what looks to be an one time job.

If it is so then maybe the cheapest way is to pay somebody to finish one time job for you.
