XZBMW  BMW F30 Adaptive Left Headlight goes Left
Hello everyone.

I have a problem with Adaptive Headlights on BMW F30. When I switch to AUTO MODE left lens in headlight goes all the way to the left. Once I choose standard light without "auto" both headlights lit as should. There no malfuction errors etc. I tried adaptation via ISTA and everything went with sucess but it didn't fix the problem.

Hi,

I saw the same symptom on on F01 once, I checked against another vehicle and found this to be normal. What happens to the headlight and beam pattern when driving? I'm guessing it is fine?

Beam pattern is ok is ok but due to this when driving looks like the light is out of the road...

That behavior is part of Adaptive Head Light II.

Under 50km/h is in town mode and left headlight goes all left, above 50km/h is in motorway mode and left headlight is back straight (see photo)

Not too sure(yet) about how it is done on F series using esys, but on E series if it happens the LSMC needs to be default coded as its a ''master/main'' smc, Light module  ''knows'' in which side of the road you are driving and all. This is a typical issue when a light module is changed(without programming) or the left SMC is replaced.

Maybe it is a far reach but check idrive settings for left-hand/right-hand traffic?
Sometimes people select these kind of things and forget about it, maybe it is causing that kind of problem.

Don't ask for FREE FILES
Most tuning fies tested on Dyno by myself
Tuning - DPF Off - EGR Off - or any etc

Certificated WinOLS Trainer

RE: BMW F30 Adaptive Left Headlight goes Left
I don't think is coding problem.

Left headlight goes to left only when switch is set to auto and speed is under 50km/h.
If you put in reverse gear or drive above 50km/h left headlight is point straight or if you don't select auto on switch.

On e-series if you want to disable this feature you have to code AHL2_ENABLE to nicht_active in FRM.
On f-series coding parameter should be C_AFS_ENA in FEM.
