i've installed 2nd computer with win10 and find out BMW coding tool have some dependency which I'm not able to fullfill, so I try to find way how to fix it. After few days, I try to write some junk code which will help me a little. Maybe it can help you too. As it creates links to ista directory, it is fast and save disk space (e90 daten have 10gigs for example). Please feel free to update me with hints or updates.

Prereq - I've installed IstaP on my C:\ drive in default folder

to use - remove .txt extension, you can check funcion of this file with notepad, etc.

I have 2 laptops with windows10 and on both bmw coding tool run's fine.

Yeah sometimes windows 64bit and coding tool are not good friends , some DLL files needs to be manually downloaded and registered as background running services .

I have it running with windows 10 , amazing tool .

Yes that's what I've done it, just manually reg DLL & ox... something, and it runs perfect.

BMW Coding Tool on Windows 10:
- move the 2 ocx files to C:Windows\SysWOW64

Register the ocx files:
- start cmd as administrator
- regsvr32 C:\Windows\SysWOW64\mscomctl.ocx
- regsvr32 C:\Windows\SysWOW64\comdlg32.ocx

In which folder I have to put the *.bat file?


I renamed the txt file to update winkfp sp daten.bat
My installation path of ncs, inpa, ediabas,.... is in c:\ (standard installation)
The folders of my SP-Daten I want to update is in c:\SP-Daten\E60
c:\SP-Daten\E89

I don t know maybe this bat will be better, mklink you save a lot of space

I have installed istaP - which is installed in c:\programdata\bmw\...\services\all spdaten also psdzdaten

I've created link to c:\spdaten

with this script you again create link from c:\spdaten with all Eseries daten to c:\ecaps\nfs\data to have current data

maybe not best solution, but Its working and I like it, if you have some better solution, please let me know, I can try to rewrite it to this form.
