Hello friends,
I am preparing myself to flash my Golf7 TDI(all modules are UDS protocol) to older software.I have setup Odis-e 6.7.5 and got VAS5054a(china clone).The quality of Vas5054a looks ok as i am able to use it with all versions of new and old ODIS and it seems to get its firmware upgrade and downgrade accordingly as per the odis version.I am able to connect to the car and can identify all modules on ODIS-E.I have 100 amp 14v power supply ready to support the battery.

But before proceeding to flash,i have few questions:

1)My ECU part no. according to vcds and Odis-e is 04L906021D and has a current software version of 9283. i searched flash database and found one version previous which is 8413 but got confused by finding exact same file names on audi flash disk eg:FL_04L906021D__8413.frf is found on both VW and audi flash disk??Are both files same and i can flash either one??

2)My DSG part no. according to vcds and odis-E is 0D9300041N.Same issue with DSG firmware.eg.FL_0D9300041N_4512_HPHW_sw.frf.Its found in both audi and VW.Can i use either one?

3)There are 2 types of dsg files with same part no. except OPHW and HPHW. eg: FL_0D9300041N_4504_OPHW_sw.frf
FL_0D9300041N_4506_HPHW_sw.frf
What does OPHW and HPHW reflect?I am trying to install etka if i can find anything with OPHW and HPHW.

4)Is is necessary to flash DSG too to previous firmware to match with ECU or can I just reflash ECU to older firmware and leave DSG to the newer one?

If size and name of the file is exactly the same ,then the file must be the same ,but for VW use from VW folder ,for Audi from Audi folder.

Anyway ,I'm not sure if ODIS will let you downgrade software ,just load the file in ODIS and check.

Thanks for your reply.Yes i checked the size and name.They are exactly same.I am thinking to use Hxeditor hex software and will compare the file in hex.
I will check ODIS-E if it will let me to downgrade the flash.

ODIS-E will allow downgrades, but you must configure it in the options correctly.
