I've been considering buying an FVDI clone for a long time and for days I've been trying to find any information that would be the best version. I only found out that V2014 is recommended because it doesn't need online activation. There is little information or a lot of false information about V2018.

Hi,
I purchased an FVDI 2018 and was working on an Astra J, I selected the car from the menu and clicked on the "Scan for units" tab in the software and as the software was scanning smoke starting coming out of the BCM, I opened it and it burned the board at the eeprom chip (Previously changed) does anyone know if it was the fault of a previous repair of the FVDI as I am very cautious of using it now.

am getting error "device not connected " on my clone fvdi 2014, what can possibly be wrong? I was using it yesterday though.
