In other cars my cable works good, but its the first time that i want to reprogram a DME. I use olso ISTA-P with icom module. i can program the DME but the engine not run only the crankc works. so the EWS not comunicate with the DME. I tried to connect Winkfp with Icom, but i not works. i change de ini file but no good. This is a simply tusk when you have the right tools... you need to read out ECU Flash to read/change ISN You dont need to change Vin but you can And you need to synchronization EWS with ECU (this you can with your BMW tools) But for now perhaps you give EWS and ECU to some one who knows how this works... And then you have time to buy the right tools to make this job for the next time... Only my thoughts... |

RE: Problem to program DME E46
Correct, it just depends what tools they have available.
One method can be done with K+DCAN and a simple wire, another method can be done with PA Soft and K+DCAN, another method can be done with Autohex or BMW Editor most of the methods require good brain.exe application plus research, another one just requires $$$ or €€€ |

RE: Problem to program DME E46
There are a lot of ways to do it. I would recommend to use the DCAN Interface put the ECU in boot mode, than use JM Garage Flaher to extract the whole flash.
Load the Flash file into Immo ID Editor, virginize the file, change the VIN, write it back with the JM Garage Flasher. Alternativ use a programmer Galep 4 or 5 or Batronix BATEGO with TSOP adapter good resoldering skills are recommended. Do the same procedure in the Immo ID Editor. All´n all nothing more than 25 minutes with all the tools. After that put the ECU back reprogramm it and start the EWS ECU sync. If the old ECU is still reachable, copy the whole Flash content to the new or used one, than start the EWS ECU sync. Regards, B1257 |

I never tried it with Galetto and dont froget to put the ECU in boot mode, otherwise it wont work. Soldering needs good skills, because the Flash has TSOP SMD package, so be aware to kill pads of the print while desoldering the chip. Sync is done with INPA Tool32, even virtual DIS is working. |

RE: Problem to program DME E46
Yes, in Galletto v54 in drivers, go to Tools Boot, and Infineon Boot mode for 29F400bb, it may say VW or Audi 29F400BB, but it's ok, it works.
It's even more stable than JM Garage. Sometimes when writing if it crashes (some DMEs will do this randomly with different tools), just use a different tool such as JM Garage flasher with K+DCAN or VAG KKL cable. Do you have original DME? If it still powers up, read the fullflash with Audi boot menu, and then flash to replacement dme in boot mode. This is 100% clone and the car should start immediately without EWS sync. |
