CIC/NBT/NBT Evo have been built with automotive grade disk units. Replacing them does not bring such a big improvement in performance as it does in a regular computer, because the operating system does not boot from the HDD. The HDD is only used for storing data like navigation, music etc.
Also, BMW stated several times that SSD does not behave well in extreme temperatures and failure is very likely especially in countries with hot summers. Automotive grade drives have been tested for large temperature thresholds for large periods of time, not two months. |

Hi mates
I have done many hdd to ssd replacement on evo units, until now everything worked like a charm Today i got an evo with toshiba MQ01AAD020C and replaced with sandisk 240 ssd after that unit constantly restart, also tried with toshiba MK2060GSC standard on nbt units but same issue Any sugestion ? |

Only replace the drive on EVo 4.1HW and all is fine No partition needs to be made? If yes there is still work to be perform. Could anyone please share the instructions Regards |
