(Solved) ISTA+ 4.07 through K+DCAN cable on F series
I have just discovered something rather interesting!

The Patched Ediabas that comes with ISTA+ 4.07 in this forum will not connect to F series with K+DCAN cable. In fact, it seems not to connect at all with that cable to any car on my installation!!

It so happens I installed BMW tools on one laptop and luckily the Ediabas in that was that from this package. I noticed this version is larger that that that comes with Ista 4.07

To my surprise this one (the Ediabas from Easy Tools) connects to all cars via K+DCAN!!

If anyone is having similar problems I can share the Ediabas version that works for me. On the flip side I now need to test it with ENET to see how it behaves. You win some you loose somehappy

For those that know how Inpa works it's nothing new, it's the ediabas.ini file (C:\EDIABAS\Bin) that controls the connection type (ICOM, ENET or Usb cable) so instead of installing an entire package you can only replace or edit the ediabas.ini as needed.

good luck!

and this is what I found mysterious!! Before replacing the Ediabas in the non working laptop I compared the Ediabas configuration files from both installations, one from tools and one from ISTA. They were 100% the same! Strange and I cant really fathom what was causing this problem.

Do you understand this remote host - LMUC203404? What does it refer to?

Check obd.ini in Ediabas folder: Port=Com9 in patched Ediabas.

RE: (Solved) ISTA+ 4.07 through K+DCAN cable on F series
I have so
[TCP]
RemoteHost = 169.254.92.38
because i have icom
and to easily change interfaces using easyconnect
But there is no need to change K-dcan and ENET
RemoteHost = LMUC203404

how do you have icom emulator for K-dcan for ISTAP it's set
RemoteHost =192.168.68.40

for STD: OBD (K-DCAN)
important only
interface = STD: OBD
port = 6801
and OBD.ini settings
and that's it

Interesting! I had changed mine to my ICOM IP as well and it seemed to work ok. Changed it back to this LMUC203404 and it still works, yet to use my ICOM but will test. I think I now know what setting Ediabas and OBD.ini need to have to use any of the interfaces. Intriguing considering three months ago it was like Greek to me
