So I had a chance to fiddle with a friends E60 525 2005, It has all airbag warning lights on the cluster but none stored.

Was using ISTA and thus could not follow any repair plans as no fault codes are stored. How is that possible? I don't have any experience with the airbag system so will start by studying the wiring diagram for this car to see whether it is something I could try repair.

I know the usual suspects are the occupancy sensor and airbag module but how do I tell which one has a problem without diagnostic help?

Check vin number in module.

Why you look airbag faults on cluster? try airbag unit, e60 has more of them, maybe coding error tcu-bluetooth module error.

Update whole car with ISTA-P. Maybe problem it’s a problem with integration level.

Check vin in abg module, must be the same like that in car,
the next step after programing abg module, you must reset system time in abg module ( ista d)

if problem is diffrent try coding KOMBI to factory , ( remember check production date in FA ( 0305, 0905 etc..)

Wrong coding. check if kombi is correctly coded
