I am trying to read a BMW F30 EDC17C50 Tricore DDE. This is a TP8/TP12 ecu, which usually needs the GPT function in KTAG to read password.

So, first I must read the tricore passwords, and it seems MPPS V18 can do it according to google searches... BUT something must be done with pin 89 (GPT2) and pin 92 (GPT1)? Some sort of resistors and connection. (I have also seen these pins be called R1 and R2. Or R3 and R4 in OBDTuning.de .)

I have searched and haven't found exactly how to try to adapt MPPS V18 to do it.

Can anyone help? How do I connect it?



PS. I know that KTAG can do it.
Trying to see if possible with MPPSv18 clone.

I just use KTAG. It's slow as dirt, but it works. I have flashed 42 times on the dde.. I learned to be patient.

MPPS would be a lot faster.



I have even tried to sniff the canbus at time of flashing to get the tricore passwords but no luck.

As far I remember there is a checksum bug ,
Was fixed on 21

Hmm, not really on topic, but the original clone v21 tools were booby trapped by the MPPS software to immediately brick the tool.

It still didn't do GPT type communication, so not useful.
