Peugeot 208 DPF Regen
I have a Peugeot 208 (2012, 1.4 D) in with 60% DPF soot level.

I have tried driving it for 30 mins at over 3,500 RMP quite a few times. The car has done 60,000 miles doing 60 miles most days on the motorway for over the last year. The DPF soot level % has been rising even know the live data shows it's doing regenerations.

Here is the live data:

Average distance between the last 10 regenerations - 555 Km (miles: 344)
Distance traveled since the last regeneration - 309 Km (miles: 192)
Cinder count in the particle filter - 60 %

Should I try and run a forced regeneration? I have a genuine Delphi DS 150. I also have 'Mr Simples' diagbox on his latest version. Would it be better to use diagbox with the regeneration while moving ? or just use the Delphi to do a forced stationary regeneration.

I haven't use a diagnostic tool to do a regeneration before so I am unsure. Please help think fail many thanks!

Hi,

if it has a normal regen cycle (which it has apparently) it will most likely not help much doing a forced regen.
What could help is driving it a bit more sporty when the engine is warmed up. Try revving it up near max a few times when you drive.
The soot mostly comes from the amount of bio diesel mixed into the diesel nowadays. 7% afaik.

If all fails, you can always do a DPF flush as the cleanser is quite easy to get now; i think liqui moly does one......plus it´s waaaaaay cheaper than a new DPF

At 60% load you need to clean the DPF by removing it and flushing it through really. You can take out the temp sensor in the DPF and add a cleaner to try to clear it that way. You could try a force driving regen with diagbox which I find works best. Need a nice long dual carriageway while carrying out a driving regen. Is the DPF additive level ok ? Have you physically checked it? If you have any fault codes in the ECU for EGR or glow plugs ect the DPF will not regen !

Yes, I have physically checked it and I have checked the diesel additive live data and there is around half left:

Volume of additive remaining in the additive reservoir or pouch: 0.55 Litres
Volume of additive when new: 1.10 Litres

The car only had these intermittent faults but they cleared and just come back rarely

EPS:

C1644: Supply Fault - Intermittent

BSI:

B132A: Security flaw low-pressure cooling circuit - Signal below the tolerance range - Intermittent

B162C: Defect coherence between the control and the state of positive relay accessories - More active relay unsolicited

I would not take much notice of the additive level in the parameters. We find quite often the additive pouch splits and all the additive fluid leaks out. The parameters still show there is plenty left. headbang The additive is on a counter and does not show the actual pouch contents. If you have checked it properly you should be fine.
