formerly i has xentry 2016 with wis and epa . i uninstall it  and install xentry 12.2018  and all the patch . now when i open xentry error massage 2221-1 
can anyone help me please 
because i wnat to do scn coding online, they said old xenrty cannot must have 12/2018 and above
want to do w221 s350  me 9.7 scn coding

I installed Xentry Diagnostic Open Shell (XDOS) on windows 7 64 bit system.
configured lan adapter ip to [b]172.29.127.119 and sub. 255.255.0.0. (wlan is off) In sd connect tool i give the mux the name 21.(is shown in configuration)[/b]
[b]Now i start xentry and choose my car model(S203, C200 Kompressor, gearbox). Now when i choose Xentry diagnostig in the menue on the top left, xentry goes back to car selection.[/b]
[b]This is also happens when i select a other car model.[/b]
[b]There is no error on desktop[/b]

[b]For information: The mux is not connected to a car (only running with a power adapter, or is xentry only runninig when mux is connected to car)[/b]
Do i need a firmwareupdate?
[b]Can someone tell me whats wrong (installation, c4 or something else)[/b]

the problem solved already,  POST 611
install fresh windows, xentry xdos and all the patch . it run without error
i try connect car  with sdconnect c4 .it works 

ps one member from this form  help me

Hello Guys,

thanks to pesona, krazzdav, liusberg, bradsbadluck!
Following your advices I got my passthru running with a x-horse Toyata =MVCI.

But in my W230 from 2003 it is only showing 5 from about 21 control units.
And some funny data like oiltemperature, oil quality etc.
So I am sure that I am in my cars control units but there is something missing???

Is this problem depending on the car you are examing or is this dependig on the device  I am using?

Does it make any sense to buy a better device?
Which one?

I have a lot of experience using the old xp C3 solution. But newer cars are forcing the new system.

yes, just like sdconnect. there is a bad quality and good quality one.

This sentence, i got from my good friend Laco.
He asked daimler regarding passthru devices and here is the answer from daimler

Daimler said (to) me, they have succesfully tested with Xentry passthru 3 devices: ADIS technology EuroDFT/EuroVCI /not possible buy device without laptop and software/, second is Bosch KTS 560 and Actia passthru+ XS bluetooth.

Those are expensive devices recommend by daimler. but vas5054 is favorite one of this forum members.

@grabbelmanko, your car is 2003 year of production, the most ecu is k line and you can see only 5 can ecu, with passthru devices only possible to diagnose can ecu, try on the car after 2005 year of production.

today I have checked my configuration with some other, even old Cars.

W163 of 2004, W463 of 2004 & W168 of 2003.

In all cases I have been  sucessful to get the connection, but everytime I failed to read more than the engines ECU, which ist almost coupled directly to the OBD2 interface.

All other ECUs are using the EZS or ZGW for building up the connection to Xentry.
I think this is what you mean with the CAN-Bus?


Taking a closer look to the solutions offered in EBAy there is sometimes a list of cars which are possible tor read with passtru.


Mercedes-Benz XDOS J2534-2 interface supports all passenger and commercial models that use CAN-bus for diagnostics.

These models are:

A(176), A(169)

B(242,246), B(245)

C(205), C(204)

E(238), E(213), E(212), E(211), E(207)

S(221), Attention: S(217) and S(222) are not supported!!!

CLA(117), CLK(209), CLS(218), CLS(219), CL(216)

SLK/SLC(172), SLK(171) SL(231), AMG GT(190), SLS(197)

GLE(292), M/GLE(166), M(164), G(463), GL/GLS(166), GL(164), GLC(253), GLK(204), GLA(156)

The best way to get in my w230 (missing in the above mentioned list) might be setting up a xdos 12/2016, which is afIk the last version to use my C4 compact(special designed C3)??

so I will search for such a solution in this forum.

Even open for better suggestions???

p.s. I will continue doing my personal resarch for a passtru. Maybe  there is some chancek for getting a newer car.

The £13.00 mini vci cable arrived today and after a few hours ( the drivers are for 32x and i have 64x) i manage to install and tested on r171 from 2004
Vin and ignition are detected automatically.
But only a few modules can be accessed with the cable.

here is 64bit mvci mini vci drivers by autokent who i thank for his work. you can select from a menu various function library versions for the dll passthru function library you want to work with. 

maybe some libraries work better than others on some vehicles, so it is for you to test each version and see which works best for the vehicle you are working with.  

instructions are included the archive.  it would be nice 

if we could have some feedback from the different versions of the function libraries to see if some work better than others on the vehicles you want to work with.
