I will add that xentry on the vas5054a also does not work the same as on mvci. The same situation does not see the voltage of the battery and after trying to connect with the car is jammed on the screen as on the attachment.

I can't answer for the vas but did you put xhorse cable on com 2?
Do you have another vehicle to test with? Perhaps a car? Mine did work on both W204 and X156

C3 works with xentry 12-2015
C4 works with xentry 12-2018 and supports more models than c3.

Don't waste your money on hdd .... this thread has your solution and you need the c4. You do not have any friend with a different model mercedes to test if it is config or vehicle? Bummer 

This is the c4 i purchased but please only make your own decision. I can say it came fast in days and with the chips as stated. Seems good craftmanship with solder and components. --- C4 MUX message seller that i refer you maybe you can ask for discount. 

I reinstalled xentry passthru last night to provide screenshots later today but will be from a windows 7 32 bit VM on a windows 10 home laptop.

Have you used the j2534 cable on another car or program yet? 
Did you run the firmware update tool to check that the cable is in fact recognized with the computer? Do not update!!
Did you change to COM 2? I will try different com today to see if it really matters. 
Is your computer a fresh windows install? What version? 
Running in a VM (virtual machine)?

EDIT 2 --
COM port does not matter it appears; i reinstalled MVCI and left it at default COM 3 and connection to 2017 GLA250 x156 was successful.
Battery appears right after selecting vehicle then XENTRY diagnosis and should not take time -- see screenshots below

 - for XDOS, you can use x86(32bit) or x64

Couple things to update --
*passthru does work on x86 (successfully tested on W7 32bit) -- there may be an error trying to run ConfigAssist from the desktop link but one system it worked the other didn't but no other issues seen.
*the fusuko reference in #7 is misspelled -- should be fusoko

 C:\ProgramData\LicDir\lic_key_2.dat to the desktop, rename it to lic_key_2.x4711, and make this file READ ONLY
MOVE it back into the directory C:\ProgramData\LicDir\.
make sure the lic_key_2.dat file IS NOT read only while lic_key_2.x4711 file READ ONLY...

I can not believe that you have installed xentry passtruh and you have gone without a problem.

I have to do two things according to your advice:
1- install the toyota mimicking and check whether it works with the original software.
2- and screw up to connect another car

My computer is a fresh installation of 7 x64 wines, it is not a Virtual Machine (VM) only directly on the computer on windows 7. In addition, the computer is only a computer for diagnostics and was bought to run xentry passtruh on it

Tell me yet to which point of installation xentry have you reached ?? because I installed xentry to point 10. Because I wrote later that the rest is about xanthus xdos. I did not install any patches

1- when you install mvci driver it will put icon on your desktop to update firmware...run that and just click top right button to get info. If the cable works properly it will populate the device's info
2- yes if the device is seen and you can try a friend's car...perhaps vito does not recognize? 

That is a good setup. Only through step 10 is all that you need with all those patches.  I have done it putting all patches 1-10 before rebooting after installing passthru and also rebooted first after installation then install patches--- both ways work.

I also did additional step II and VII but they aren't required to work.

yesterday i struggle to set up mini-vci (clone version) as it not seeing car in xentry.  i was getting communication error.  solution is to create directory c:\temp\mvci and copy dill file i have included in archive in attachment and run the reg file.  it was the function library (dll file) was not seen by the drivers for the cable. thus giving a communication error.  after i did this now xentry working fine work mini vci.  i hope this solution fixes the problems for some who have my problem. changing com port 2 to will do nothing and is not a solution. only will help if other device is trying to share same com port.
