You can use it as a KKL interface with Virtual com port drivers for vag eeprom programmer for example but thats all

You maybe can use it as simple k-line interface in "dumb mode" maybe for vag commander and similar programs but that is pointless as those simple interfaces are about 5$. VCDS is interface used with it's software as almost all "advanced" or dealer level diagnostics...
