Hey guys i hope you can help me.
chiptuning is fascinating me for long time so i decided to tune my car - but on my own!

I already found out what ecu my car has.
Car is a KIA Ceed JD 128HP CRDI (Bosch EDC17C08)
What do i need to read/write the ECU? Logically i prefer to read/write the ecu via OBD2 but is there a way? If no i buy a used ecu on Ebay (costs around 50€) to test with it first - i would use kess/ktag for it (is this right?)

contact a tuner to read tune and write your ecu...only boot mode

The Ebay ECU is for testing purposes only if i can not read my ecu via obd

Kess v2 protocol 228 (boot tricore) will do it

boot mode with kess or bench in general with the likes of ktag is by far the best for edc17

Then u will need to study much and decide which software your going to use to modify the file read out and test,then repeat again
until you perfect
