ETK Admin -> Data -> Load publication data is the right way to update because normaly only database is new. admin tool will tell you if setup is needed. This is only needed if big program change.

When I run the setup exe for the installation, it does not move on after a few steps. Freeze frame.
The installation hangs.
If I then close it via the Task Manager, the installation will continue, but important steps will be skipped.

Had that time and had to clean the regestry with CCleaner, but here it does not help anymore.

Can someone tell me why that is?

Install from DVD or a virtual drive!

I do not have a DVD.
Also have no ISO file.

1. If you clean your PC with normal "remove program" or CCleaner or...
than delete everything under that: c:\BMWgroup\ETKLokal\
2. Then restart PC,
3. and install setup.exe
"Ports (Tomcat) must be set to 1027 and 1028 at installation, in the lower fields (Transbase) will already be 2024 and 2025. The application policy regarding the "correct" ports has changed. It is better to try to leave those that the installer itself will offer."
4. If it not enough, then before install it again reinstall java! It can be help.
