R50 Used dsc coding error
Hi,
I have an error when trying to recode a used Dsc control unit using ncs expert. The error is error_ecu_subfunction_not_supported__invalid_format. The car has Dsc and I believe the part to be a Dsc unit. Can anyone advise? Many thanks. |

RE: R50 Used dsc coding error
Such error is the result from trying to code a parameter that the ECU you're trying to code doesn't contain or understand.
If you are trying to code default value's you either have: 1. Older/modified DATEN files -OR- 2. The ECU you're trying to code isn't the same part as what it should have been when the car left the factory, so wrong part number. -OR- 3. Replacement module has another coding index Verify you've installed the correct part, if the part is correct but has another software version you can make NCS read the coding index. In NCS after you've red the VO, click "Process ECU", select the DSC module, click "Change Job" and select "CODIERINDEX_LESEN" ( translated: read coding index ), Execute job. If the coding index changed (for example from module_name_here.C02 to module_name_here.C04), have a go at coding it again. If this doesn't solve it you need to update to the latest DATEN files. If that doesn't solve it then you have to try coding it with other software/tools. If my post was helpful to you please give me a thanks and/or reputation

RE: R50 Used dsc coding error
What interface do you use? If it's D-CAN, use ICOM instead.
