Mine looks a hell of a lot different to your images. I haven't even got an sd card in mine. Have I been ripped off with this one?

Oh, and another question. What is the sd card for? Is it for storage like the flight recorder on the Delphi  ds150e?

SD card is where the VCM firmware is located. I image yours has some type of on-board storage for this. I don't know enough about circuit design to tell if it's a poor clone or not, sorry. If you bought it under the presumption it was genuine you may have been taken.

I've had a nightmare getting this to work. I think I may end up binning it and getting a 2 board version that has the sd-card.

In all the vmware images I have tried they all ask for the driver and don't auto install it. Nor can I find it. VCM manager shows the device but will not connect to it. I can't get any further than that.

Mate, it is bad bad quality.

Can't you see the difference? big difference. Firstly, you only have 1 PCB. Original and good clone has 2 PCB. Secondly, your PCB is missing many.. MANY components. You can see pictures in this thread to compare the big difference.

Do not waste your time trying to get it to work. Once you get it working, you will likely fry ECU's with this!

Cheers for the info. I had already noticed it was bad quality and bits were missing.

It turns out it is actually a Vcx nano ford in a vcm 2 case! I only found out by using a vmware image of ids from somewhere and it had installer for the vcx nano driver. It then worked!

Probably going to bin it and get another one but the one I want is out of stock. The one I want is the SP177C which everyone seems to rate as the best. I've just got to source one now.

PS where on earth is the introductory post? I can't find out where to post anywhere and feel awful not doing so.
