Hello done NBT retrofit in E60.
I changed the 4 wires on the quadlock in order to get the 2 woofers working. So they work now.

Coded to Hifi/External Multichannel disabled.

Now sounds like crap. A lot of echo. And when car starts I can hear the speakers pop sound which is very annoying.

Any idea?

I'm afraid you have to swap all speakers. This is also a problem with HIFI cars and CIC retrofit. Remember one case when retrofitting CIC in a pre E60 with HIFI, was having the same issues. No way I could get it working back then.

I really hope I am wrong and someone has a solution!

I have done retrofit NBT EVO on E61 from 2005 with 676 hifi...coded evo and all work like schould.....sound is normal,handsfree without echo...
Before EVO..car have retrofitted CIC and all are function 1A..

becoz you need to look at diagrams. move the wires and they will start working.

I had cic in my prelci with hifi and in my opinion it was not good. Had to retrofit full L7 to be happy again

I have noticed that many people have different views what is "good or acceptable sound".
In E60 series Hifi is totally diffferent comparing in CIC or newer cars.
I don't know in NBT but in CIC if you code it Hifi, it reduces output level significantly. The reason is that CIC hifi amp covers all the channels which is cnnected to speaker output of the headunit.
I don't know if that is the case in this.

Check fiber optic connection. hifi are connected to most and this echo/bzum and etc can be issue of MOST connections (maybe dust in light connector)

Guys I was hoping to get a solution, my issue is not about comparing hifi and top hifi sound quality nor it is about being told to check fibre optic when hifi amps dont use fibre optic but only top hifi+

Does your amp have newest firmware? i have no sound after cic retrofit, maybe simillar.

btw, missed it is only hifi not top-hifi
