Is it possible using ISTA to find out what cause battery draining the power?
I have a 2007 BMW x3, something in it keep draning the battery. vehicle remain beeping when door is open but key out of ignition, and the indicator light of parking gear stays on. want to know if I can use the ISTA to find out what excatly cause this problem and how. thanks

If no additional equipment in the car, you can use energy diagnosis. But first try to disconnect IBS

Yes correct, E83 doesn't have a IBS Sensor, the electronic system is similar to E46. in this case, you have to measure battery drain with a amp clamp or multimeter after the car is a sleep and then disconnect components and fuses to locate the issue.

What about "energy diagnosis" that Mr. Node mentioned (post #5)? So, afterall, ISTA-D can't do nothing, despite of what Mr. Fx82 said in post #2? Because that was the initial question

If it does not have IBS, then no energy diagnosis. Just the leg work.
