RE: Any ZF specialist on the forum?
Ok friends, thank you for all the replies. Those sealings were checked and they were fine. I was thniking also that the solenoids are the cause for my problem. But, after reading a few documents about this gearbox, i found that if the problem would be a bad or more solenoids, the gearbox would give a fault code. Also, my problem is more noticeable when the engine/gearbox is cold. When cold, i get a bump when shifting from 2 to 3 and 4 to 5. After it gets hot, the 4 to 5 bump dissapear, and remains only the 2 to 3 bump, but is less noticeable. Sometimes it gives a perfect shift. I forgot to mention what car is. The car is a BMW e90LCI, 2011, 320d(184HP). I have attached 2 photos, one with my gearbox adaptation values, and one with the normal adaptation values. According to that, my adaptation are fine. If I drive the car like my granny and the gearbox shifts the gears under 2000RPM the shifting is perfect. Also, if the shifting is over 3000rpm the gear shifting is preety good. But if i drive the car like normal peoples do...the car shifts the gears between 2000rpm and 2500rpm and that is when i get that 2 to 3 shift bump.

Mate this may be that your engine mounting is damaged so it lifts engine while changing gears and in granny mode driving everything is ok

If helped press REP and THANKS!thumbsup

Ok, but only from 2 to 3rd gear? As i have mentioned, under 2000rpm, shifts are ok, over 3000rpm shifts are also ok, between 2000 and 3000 rpm shift from 2 to 3 is not ok.

ISTA-P has a special measures plan to fix hard shifts from 2nd to 3rd gear for some gearbox models. If not, then your solenoids are faulty. You will only get a fault when a solenoid is totally broken. In most cases they are just degraded thus no fault code.

RE: Any ZF specialist on the forum?
I had near same problem on my old a6 4f 3.0 tdi with 6p19 gearbox, after 2 years and many tryes (transmission cleaning, solenoid replacing etc) we found the problem. The problem caused by the intermediate plate (separator plate) between the valve body, one of the sealing is damaged, when the transmission fluid was cold, the pressure was higher inside, and the valve body is leaking, when the transmission fluid was warm the oil pressure lower, leaking gone ... Leaking caused the jerking, bad shifting etc....

Slip in 5th and 6th gear when engine cold, on winter slip for 2-3kms , in summer usually after 500-600meter it will be good

Only ISTA-P has that function? I have ISTA-D, and didn`t found anything for my problem.

Makes sense. I have also thought that the oil or the valve body could be the problem. I was thinking to send my valvebody for rebuilding, and replace once again the entire oil from the gearbox.

RE: Any ZF specialist on the forum?
Only ISTA-P as it requires some programming and ISTA+ does not support E series. SSS should have it too. Old unix based ISTA-D v44 (which was the last with programming) I think is too old for E90, but not sure.

I have updated my transmission to the latest version available using WinKFP. After that, i did a adaptation reset, ant follow a procedure to relearn the gearbox. I have a friend with ISTA-P and ICOM. Can you please give me some details about that function? Where can i find it? In service functions? Thank you!
