I want to retrofit cruise control into an E90 with N52 engine, MY 2005. Officially it needs an additional LDM control unit to have a functioning cruise control with braking function ($544).

Question: does anyone know whether the standard cruise control without braking function ($540) works in 6 cylinder engines or not, does it accept this VO code? I don't want to wire an LDM unit if it is not necessary, customer says the standard cc is enough.

You must install the LDM. And as it is 2005 car with N52, it is much possible that you must replace the instrument cluster too.

I'm struggling with the same issue. a got a 2005 e90 with n52 engine.
No cruise control and LDM installaed in the car.

However i'd like to add the simple cruise control. How did you manage to get this working?

Buy a steering collum switch cluster with cruise control handle. change FA by adding $540 and then VO/FA code KOMBI,CAS and DME.

The LED by the Dail on combi don't work because of hardware but for the rest everything should be okay.
