As ever, thanks to sunaj. |

RE: ETKA 8.0 v03.2018
An update on my progress on this. First thing I did was disable the driver updates. I then restarted the laptop and began the ETKA installation again. Everything went as normal for about the first 50 minutes. It then displayed a command prompt window, which is the Hardlock install part, and I left it to run. Unfortunately, nothing ever appeared in the window, so I just left it to see what would happen. After three hours of waiting, I decided to close the window, and finished the install. When I tried starting ETKA, it said Hardlock couldn't be found.
Thinking about it, I'm wondering if by disabling the driver updates in Windows, I just wasted three hours. I'm going to re-enable that option and try the install again, check if ETKA runs, and if it does, then disable the updates. After that, I'll begin downloading the updates... although it could be tomorrow at this rate. |

RE: ETKA 8.0 v03.2018
So, after re-enabling the 'disable driver update' option, I reinstalled ETKA and the install went fine. All in, just short of one hour, with no issue on the Hardlock part of the install. ETKA runs fine and just gave me a warning about it due to expire. This is because I didn't run the update tool yet. I have since run that and got all the downloads, and will be running that later this evening, since it will take a while to process all the update files.
Since it may be necessary to reinstall ETKA again from scratch, I wrote a little batch file to copy all the update files to a backup folder, and will run this after each time I run the online-updater, and before starting ETKA (which deletes the update files after installing them). It appears I can't attach batch files, so I've added the contents of the batch file below: Code: echo off |

After installing the date updates, I can no longer use the tool and I go with the manual update prices !!! Thanks much |

Looks like sunaj has left the forum. Forever, it seems. That's what Leechers have done for us......
