I am looking at a universal usb eeprom reader that I would remove the chip and read by plugging into reader, could I then export the data into other software for editing and will it read encrypted eeprom?

You have a lot of programmer that can read eeprom and mcu
It depends on if you have specefic eeproms
All programmer can read crypted eeproms but need special softwars to decrypt them

for eeprom is working chinese clones same mcu but if is special mcu or locked mcu no is on 100% but vvdiprog is original xhorse product and good,ih help u use magic buttons

TL866 is odriginal China programmer and it is good and cheap .For the EEproms and many other eproms ,PICa , flash .....it is enough if you are looking cheap one.

Ok so what softwares shiuld I look at getting? Thinking of doind immobliser, module cloning etc., mainly working on Toyota, Ford, vag, vauxhall, BMW, mercedes, also can I add key id to the eeprom dump directly without carrying out a key programming procedure?
