CAS3+ EDC17 cloning
Hello guys i would like start cloning edc17 on e series , currently i have vvdi prog, ktag, orange explorer clone which can read long cas3+ isn
what i need to do with key when cloning and which tool i should buy anyone can explain i know something about key password..?itwasntme

ktag is good for edc17,vvdiprog cover reading cas3,4 dump..for add keys and other calculations like isn,km,etc..use vvdi bmw..for deal with bmw also need oem diag ista D+P..If you want all that in one need spend more and buy autohex

i have icom, but i heard cloning direct damaged ecu with ktag it will not start car, cause something need to be done with cas keys reasons for that is encryption , so how really it is?im not asking about keys, but about keys i have hitag 3,1 which works up to cas3 im thinking to buy maybe cgdi

ktag latest can read write edc17 DDE8 it skip otp..if car wont start this can hapen and cas-ecu resinc neded..

It wont give to synch with rheingold after cloning friend of mine not long time ago tryed rh showed this, that is reason im asking what we missed

CAS/EWS to DME/DDE sync was for control modules with rolling codes. Not sure why they went away from rolling codes.
ISN SK (128-bit) is static and non rolling. So you must simply copy it in. No sync procedure.


Correct, as long as you skip OTP areas (if they are present), you will make 1 to 1 clone, and car will start fine.

You will still have to worry about auto transmission ISN if you are swapping CAS modules, etc.

In this way only ecu, with cas i know need calculate from ram btw that orange clone reads ram, you say he made not full backup seems too?
