E90 DSC module - prog status 12 after ISTA/P treatment
Car: E90 M3 build date 03/08
Power Supply: Deutronic DBL1600 Tools: J2534 device, ICOM Next A/B/C, generic DCAN cables Car came to me for programming to verify latest software before doing a DME read for the purpose of tuning. I used our Launch J2354 (we did not own an ICOM at this point) device with (bmwtechnifo) online ISTA/P. Things went routine other than I noticed I had to "repeat" the downloading of data after ISTA does model identification. There were a few modules ISTA wanted to update. The DSC programming failed and now the car is acting crazy, wipers on no matter what, all the lights on, etc. Looking at the module info in ISTA/P, the module says "the programming status is 12" All my research so far suggests that I can still fix this using winKFP expertmode (if I'm reading right, forgive me the learning curve for this stuff is steep!) I think I need help with two things: A) How to configure my "standard tools" installation to work through the ICOM interface. I have found some conflicting information. I believe modification of EDIBIAS.ini is required. I have iToolRadar already, and I read something about needing "EasyConnect"?? Not sure how to go about locking and unlocking the ICOM for standard tools use. I feel like I was lucky to even get it working with ISTA/P given the lack of any real documentation. B) The correct procedure for identifying the appropriate files so I can go about reprogramming the module. I have read almost every thread I can find relating to these issues and I can not follow exactly what to do. It is hard when there are so many different versions, and half the pictures and/or links are now dead from old threads!! at one point I read that using ISTA/P with the proper ICOM would actually be able to save this module. I have tried that twice since we bought our ICOM NEXT A/B/C package (genuine, from BMW) and programming fails both times. my attempts at standard tools operation on an e90 have always been hit or miss using the DCAN cables, which is why we finally caved in and purchased a proper interface. thank you in advance! I'm at your mercy

Where are you located (time zone, etc)? May be able to help you remotely through Teamviewer. That would be a little easier than trying to type it all out.

Program your DSC modul again with winkfp..install standard tools,load kfp with datens from your istap folder and you are fine..here pdf how import and config.
