Try restarting your computer. I had something weird happen a few days ago on an another version of ISTA where I couldn't copy and paste into the manual VIN input box - a restart fixed it.

EDIT: Notes on the vehicle test - Reading vehicle data:
It should also be noted that as of ISTA version 4.11, vehicle identification via basic features is no longer possible.
