NChrysler  Solved ✔ Jeep Cherokee Immo wont program key
I am working on a 2006 2.8crd Cherokee Sport.
The car was sent to an engine builder for head work and now has a non start problem.
The car will not crank or start and the immo lamp is on and not flashing when the key is on.
I have tried using SBB to reprogram the old key and also a new id46 chip both attempts have failed and SBB says no keys are programmed.
i have checked power and ground pins on the skreem and pcm and both are ok.
I note that SBB shows only 10.65v when connected to the dlc , battery voltage is 12.5v.
Does anyone have any info on this issue please.

I would check wiring smile sounds like can or Kline wires might be damaged.
Especially since it worked before head work was done.

under If mine or others posts and info are helpful please give thanks/rep smile yes

RE: Jeep Cherokee Immo wont program key
Turns out after a little detective work that the vehicle was running after the head work but with a poor battery fitted , the guy who dropped it off used a boost start pack to get it going and this is when the issue started...

you need to program with a new id46 that is not locked, if already lock it will not program, try a blank pcf7936 and hopefully it will program. also check old key if it still reads as id46, if working something else could be the problem

Thanks for the reply, I have tried to program a brand new PC7936 but programming fails every time.
The original key will not read in Zed Bull so I expected a new pcf to program OK but no luck.

I use xtool pro pad2, not sure if your tools will program.

RE: Jeep Cherokee Immo wont program key
Replaced ECU and skim module and problem resolved.
Looks like the boost starter had caused ECU or skim corruption.
No one had owned up to connecting up reverse polarity or flashing live to the ECU casing but I suspect that to be the case.
Thanks to everyone for your input and help.
