Hello,

I need to buy original MB Star OBD Lead (Or very good clone), will need to diagnose Mercs since 2000+ or so up to today.
Ideally I would need access to the original online Mercedes diagnostic system too.

I am new to this and I am willing to pay for assistance

For original you may need Xentry Connect or Xentry VCI, clone can be SDConnect (so-called C4).

Online access you can ask someone to code everytime or monthly/yearly rental.

Only if you are in USA for the account, or you have to rent the diagnostic system for 42 months contract in order to have your own access right. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Here is my experience and feedback.

If it is possible for you to get genuine MB diagnosis device, please try to get Xentry VCI as new contract. I am using MB genuine Xentry Connect with MB official online access license, but Wifi function for XentryTab of Xentry Connect is very unstable. Time to time, because of this, I can't use these devices for diagnosis.

The best is, get Xentry VCI with MB official license and get high-spec laptop by yourself. When you get official licensed VCI, you do not struggle for update by using and getting special patch files.... Just inserting blueray disk and done.
Sometimes, even MB has special patch file....for installation. When I had 2018.3 installation, nothing worked. When I sent email to daimler user help desk, they sent
me special file which was not available from blueray or online.
