Hi Guys,

I have searched hi and low and cannot find any updates to my South Africa map.

I've upgraded the firmware from
HN+_EU_AU3G_P0530
to
HN+_EU_AU3G_K0900

But still the map update eludes me.

I have: 8R0060884AJ SA 5.4.3

Any help would be appreciated.

Does any one has the firmware to share?
I wanna convert it to a New Zealand version for my friend.

You must edit eeprom and then you have to apply normal EU Firmware on it. There is no special FW! Only Japan, CN, EU and US has different firmware. As you see South Africa also using EU Firmware Australia/Canada also, so it must be right also for NZ.

When you don't edit eeprom for languages, then you will get a screen without letters. And then it is hard without text on the screen to get somewhere.

When you are good at electrics remove the eeprom read it and rewrite it, or get a VCP Cable Read it, edit it and write it back. Here you see what has to be changed for the languages http://www.audienthusiasts.com/Infotainment_EEPROM.html

Or bring/send the unit to someone who knows what he does, to make conversation for NZ.

Maps will be the next problems, because it is already hard to find the North American Maps..

If you bring the whole car to NZ, maybe you need to change also radiotuner because of other frequencies. Also be prepaired that online services and SIM Card/rSAP Services don't work properly because there can also be different frequencies. (Like US Unit can not connect to EU 3G Networks stays always on slow 2G Network).

I have successfully convert it with EU firmware. The next step is to find a New Zealand map for Audi Q3.
