E61: LM2 AHL coding issue
hi,

replaced headlight SMC module on a e61
coded LM-AHL module with NCS after replacement.

the adaptive function (left -right turn) works without issues.
but the LWR function (up -down movement) is just backwards.
Instead of moving down the headlight moves up and vice versa.
same if activated with INPA/ISTA.
The other headlight works the right way.
tried with the ori. SMC and the function is fine, so definitely a coding issue.
anybody had the same issue or knows how to change the parameter in the .TRC or Nettodat?

Why do not you encode RSMC or LSMC?

RE: E61: LM2 AHL coding issue
thanks for the hint,
i probably looked wrong and didn't see the individual ecu's in the list...i thought the SMC's are coded trough the LM module as in e9x cars where you only code the FRM...
will check this

RE: E61: LM2 AHL coding issue
I just recently did a complete retrofit of the LCI E60 headlights and taillights into a 2004 E60, complete with LM2 module. The individual stepper motor modules were called 2LSMC and 2RSMC if I remember correctly. I think you're looking for these keywords:
  • On the left: "LWR_POSIT_RECHTS_LI - OPERATION DIRECTION FOR LEFT VERTICAL HEADLIGHT AIM CONTROL (LWR) [WERT_01: POSTIVE SIGNAL MOVES DOWN, WERT_02: POSTIVE SIGNAL MOVES UP]"
  • On the right: "LWR_POSIT_RECHTS_RE - OPERATION DIRECTION FOR RIGHT VERTICAL HEADLIGHT AIM CONTROL (LWR) [WERT_01: POSTIVE SIGNAL MOVES DOWN, WERT_02: POSTIVE SIGNAL MOVES UP]"

Do be careful though, there are multiple other inversion coding options, including one that looks almost identical, but is for the horizontal movement instead.
