RE: Tool32 with enet cable
Install STANDARD TOOLS 2.12
(compatibility of Windows XP SP3, and as administrator unappear)
select the ENET interface
fill in data in,
C: \ Ediabas / ECU /
example from Rheingold / ECU / copy all files and paste to
C: \ Ediabas / ECU /
before running Tool32.exe
C: \ EDIABAS / BIN / Tol32.exe
properties / compatibility tab / run according to windows XP SP3
and run as administrator / Apply / OK
and everything .
For ZGWSearch to see the IP
C: \ EDIABAS \ Hardware \ ENET \ ZgwSearch.exe
Properties / application compatibility / run according to windows XP SP3
and run as administrator / apply / OK
that's all and it will work for sure
recommend files from ista +, quite new to make all data available.

For everything to work EDIABAS you need to install,
I do not recommend EDIABA730.msi he only has a mode for STD: OBD,
only the same ediabas 7.3.0 installed through Standard tools 2.12

If my post helped you hit the thanks and reputation button!under

Hi DNK76,

thanks a lot for the instructions. I am new here, both as a BMW driver (F31) and also as an ENET cable owner.

As I wold like to step by step start using it, my first question would be, which installation of the standard tools is complete and working? OS is Windows 7 x64.

It is easy to find some "Standard tools 2.12" in the world wide W, but the first installation I found was naked, without the required database files.

The second one, included to the package "Mike's Easy BMW Tools", had some database files in it and after installing it I could choose my F31 in the INPA. But choosing the engine (N47) still caused an error, saying some motor specific database file is still missing.

I would really appreciate, if you, or someone else, could help me to find an to configure the standard tools (German is preferred, but English would be also ok), before I go on further with ISTA and others. The are many different tools and even more different versions of them, making it difficult for a newcomer to get an overview.
