Hello,

does somebody know what is the problem and how to solve the issue with entertainment system of Audi A8 2013 MMI with error code 02446 Disc Drive Mechanical Malfunction?

The Screen ist starting and in menue under Navigation / Media - it is staying Initialising Device but nothing happens.

It is possible, that the Disc Drive is broken or blocked, you can remove the unit and open it. Maybe you see something, or get another drive from a broken unit or sometimes on AliExpress they have replacement drives for some small $

When Media is not loading also something possible:
Recently updated the Maps ? When you used wrong activator (eg. for MMI 3G High or Basic) then it replaced the "Multimedia Launcher" with the wrong mount points or file can be empty. So it can not load the Infos from the Drive. Also not possible to load the mount points from the Hard drive.

Thank you! Is the drive under component protection or can be without problems and coding switched?

Drive is inside of main Unit so there is no component Protection. Only if you change whole component like Main Unit complete or Sound amplifer
