VAG edc17cp14, ktag patch file after backup
Hi
Maybe I get golf 6, 2.0tdi, 2009, 81kw ( I know only this at the moment) for tuning (my friends new car)  I checked a little bit, probably is edc17cp14, IROM TC 1796 (protocol 151) Everything is clear, selection, boot pin..all except pach serial activation enable after backup reading.. Is this patch button necessary only for tprot off to read/write through obd after, or I have to patch the file anyway, despite writting tuned file through boot mode back? I have ktag rework , and kess eu purple pcb  Thankyou

You will need VCP,VAS(odis) or X17,i use X17.Make picture from ecu sticker than i will send you FRF file.

So, no need to use patch button if I write back mod file via boot mode???(clone ktag) Just save backup separately and write mod. micro back?(All I do not want is to brick ecu
)

the patch only serves to unlock writing from obd for the writes later
you can write the map on boot without a patch you do not risk anything when you have a complete back-up |
