Just this week, July 9, 2018, I tried to update GDS online. After reading the pop up message, I modified the server connection URL to "ccc.hyundai.com" hoping to get some fresh updates. Indeed, I got 2 or 3 updates as far as I can remember. I rejoiced at that time!

However, when I connected to Santa Fe (CM) 2007, 2.2 Diesel, an error popped up saying "VCI is not recognized by GDS properly". I then powered off the VCI and reconnected however the same error popped up.

So I updated the driver through the device manager in Windows 7 x32 and was prompted "Driver was updated successfully". Again, the same error popped up when connected to the car.

As usual, I was prompted to update the firmware but I did not because of fear to brick this chinese cloned VCI.

I believe the latest 2 or 3 updates I got from the new server URL "ccc.hyundai.com" has caused this error. Or maybe I am wrong. So I reverted the server URL back to the previous one before it was changed to "ccc.hyundai.com". Then I attempted an online update but there is no more available.

Now the VCI cannot be used. Did anybody encountered this problem? Can anybody help and share how will this be resolved? I hope somebody can share and help me out. Thanks in advance...

As I can see the VCI has no firmware
Did you powered it up?
Did you firmware update?
Is your tool VCI the blue one?
Maybe the blqacklist is casuse this
Put it in Factory mode and try again the firmware update

I didn;t tested in a car but when I saw your post I tried to upgrade my system and my VCI too

mattydr67, Thanks for your immediate reply. Yes, VCI was powered up via its own 12v AC adaptor and connected to PC. I did not do firmware update since it can be connected to the car previously without any problem. VCI is of blue color.

If I do firmware update, is it safe to use the modified VCI.bin for fw 2.24 update downloaded from this forum without bricking it? i not, which one to use? How did you update yours without bricking? I will follow your procedure if you allow me. Thank you in advance...

I reconnected again the VCI to PC, powered up and checked the configuration. This time it shows the original FW 2.07 when purchased. However, the same error popped out as "GDS is not recognized by GDS properly" when checking for DTC. (Note that this time VCI is not connected to the car). Then a firmware update is prompted.

mattydr67, please confirm if it is safe to update firmware using modified VCI.bin for 2.24 fw upgrade, which is downloaded from this forum, to update to FW 2.30...

Also sometime last year, I encountered this when using the GDS (See attached). However, I did not mind it.

Now when I try to access the new ccc.hyundai.com url, my user ID and password is invalid.

I should have followed the procedure last year...

First of all the fe 2.24 is not helping you at all
You have to know that you cannot brick the tool
Yout VCI blue one is has thr S/N blacklisted. Thats all
To use it now you need to uograde the firmware to fw2.30 as it wish otherwise it will not work.
To upgrade the firmware you have to have the VCI plugged to usb powered on by car or at beanch with power adaptor. This is not matter anf then you have to use firmware update button in software.
But for the moment do not do it because you need a moded firmware fw 2.30.
My vci serial is not blacklisted so I have no trouble in this.
The other message that you recive is inly for that one that have oficial dealer account.
