What to use for flashing
I am very new to this area of car electronics although I have been an APR agent for many years. A few days ago I wanted to put the standard map on a Golf 5 R32 and I tried to use ODIS with my VAS6154 but it said the file I needed was not there, I can post the number tomorrow. As I said I have a genuine 6154, a number of old generic copies of 5054 and plus, a newly acquired VCP cable and a Hex+CAN VCDS cable. Which would you chaps say was the best way of flashing using what I have or what should I buy? With the R32, APR kindly let me have the standard file and now the thing is a pig to start! I will start a new post about this.

I don't think it is so easy or possible to flash modified files with any tools due to security encryptions. If you wish to test try with VCP. APR flashes externally.

What I want to do is flash standard files without having to use ODIS which is slow.

VCP is my favorite. Flashing with vas5054a and odis engineering is fast too (10ns memory). Either method is fast but choice depends on individual. Slowest is vas5054a and odis-s (online flashing using svm and license account)
Never tried the VCDs version which can flash. No thread on this I believe either. If you like my post press
