Flash file Odis question
Hi ppl,
I need to flash my rear view camera using Odis-e. I have the latest Audi Flashdaten. The module is "4L0 910 441". But i can not find a file named 4L0910441.sgo.. (or something like that). The closest one is 4L0910401K__0020.sgo. Should i be looking in older Flashdaten for the exact file? Another question: Before flashing i figured to backup the ori file. A READ in odis-e comes up with a .xml file.... is this normal? Can someone pls shed some light on this? tnx |

RE: Flash file Odis question
You have to flash same number not closest one. The one with 401 is for Engine and not for RVC...
When there is no flash file, then there is also not one in older Versions. When Audi places a file, they always place the newest. (on older flash files, you can only find older engine, transmission files or something like that). Also be carefull on RVC Modules ... only Hardware Index B can be flashed, and there is also no 4L0 file! You can change it to A4, A5, A6 Module with flash, but not backwards to 4L0 and with other Software it will no work in Q7! Also there is no possibility in ODIS-E to make a ORI Copy of the RVC ECU. You have to open the Ecu and read the EEproms inside, with a reader, then it is possible to flash back, but only true electronic cracks can do this. If my answer helped to fix anything, then don't forget to give me some rep please!

RE: Flash file Odis question
Sorry to say, but nowwhere. They are in a server at the Audi Company not open for the public, it is also not possible to get there when you are a dealer!
Audi only releases flash update files on Service42, which are fixing an error or are needed for something like other glow plugs or other transmission oil. For this they also have somewhere a SVM Code in a Technical Product Information, to flash with odis, or for automatic flash with odis over SVM Soll-/Ist. The downloadable flash files are only for dealers, which are having a poor internet connection, but we also can use them. In the history, some Audi worker(s) stole or got like 5-10 files for 4F Units and those are very hard to get, and owners nearly don't sell it. The Files I know are: 4F AAS Allroad Facelift Flash, some 4F Engine Ecu File, 4F Central Electric file, 4F Facelift Climate Control file to remove restriction of seat heating from 30 to 60C°, Flash for 4F Facelift Gateway to last Version. Don't put some other Software of 8R0, 8T0 or 4F0 on your RVC ECU. When you can't determine Index B (like if HW is 4L0910441 "B")then don't try flashing anything on the car! maybe you are flashing wrong firmware to the unit and you can throw it away, because on some units when they have number 4L0910441B the Unit breaks when you flash for example 4L0910441F or 4F0910441B File! Before you asking more, tell us which Ecu you have (HW, SW) maybe a Identification of it like from a VCDS Log or a Screen of ODIS HW SW or a photo of the label on the ecu, and tell us why you want to flash it. So we can tell you if it is possible and which file you need. If my answer helped to fix anything, then don't forget to give me some rep please!

RE: Flash file Odis question
Hi PopDog,
Thank you very much for the enhanced answer, much appreciated.!! (i just read your comment; i did not get the "email notification".....) /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// Address 6C: Back-up Cam. Labels: 4L0-910-441.clb Part No SW: 4L0 910 441 HW: 4L0 907 441 Component: J772__Rearview 0010 Revision: --H10--- Serial number: 525PA8-J5Z0175 Coding: 1030101 Shop #: WSC 00046 000 00000 VCID: 63C5C9A9A2842B5AB4-8036 //////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// this is from the vcds log. The reason why i want to flash is 2fold; Primarely i consider it a learning by trial&error (its my own car), and a great interest in VAG technology. The second reason is a bit more sinister if you like... ; I did an odometer correction but i had this calibration dtc stuck on the old milage and impossible to delete. The RVC (or the module) are defective (black screen) so recalibrating is impossible. This is what started the idea to reflash the whole module. I solved it btw by flashing the MMI bootloader 5570. So there was never an urgent need to flash but i still want to know how, just in case... As i m getting more and more interested in the matter, i m now willing to flash any module with Odis-e just for the fun of it!!! |
