Hi Guys,

Has anyone managed to convert an Asian NBT to another region?

I am looking at buying a Japanese import that a NBT unit installed and I would like to get the maps working on it. From what I have found online there is a known process for the CIC units.

Can anyone point me in the right direction to do this?

No region lock on NBT...only NBT Evo.
So you will be fine. Just load the map you require.

So I can just change the radio region and then generate a FSC for the vin and it will work with the New Zealand map?

I have got a copy of the latest NZ Map and I am trying to load it into the NBT. When I stick the USB into the port it is not being detected by the NBT as having a map update on it. I have tried mutliple USB drives and FAT32 and NTFS.

Any ideas on how to get the NBT to update the map?

If you are using win10, try to use some FAT32 formatter, win10 erase USB incorrectly.

Thanks for the suggestion Buzzy, I just tried that with no luck.

According to one of the guys over at the bimmerpost it wont work. It looks like there is region specific nbt firmware for the Asian countries.

Does anyone know how I can flash the non asian firmware onto the NBT? or can point me in the direction in some documentation on how to do it?
