Correct DME ZUSB for any particular Engine
Is there a way to easily identify what ZUSB fits a particular car?

I have a car vin KX19139 and I need to know the best fit DME ZUSB from these after installing a used unit. Cant find the ZUSB on the DME in history file

More importantly HOW do we find out the correct ZUSB? I know I can flash it with ISTAP but would it just upgrade based on the used unit installed or it would choose the correct ZUSB for the engine type based on vin? I want to know how it chooseshappyhappy

I flashed it randomly with winkfp and any of the ZUSBS are accepted!!

Start ISTA P. Program will chose correct software for DME. Open dialog box for DME. Read number for new software.
Then use WinKFP to flash wink

I have seen so many brickings with ISTA-P to where I would be weary of making such a statement. Even at dealers.


For older cars, realoem may tell you the zusb in the programmed part number.

Always save your original zusb. Even if old or new flash.
Other E chassis, you can open the .HIS file and look at the zusb numbers there, which are arranged in a before and after arrangement. You will always arrive at the latest zusb in the upgrade series, as well as all the zusb in between.

Look into Kmm_ATSH.txt file in KmmData folder in your E90 spdaten. There are all zusb for all units for different chassis code,fa code and i-level. smile
