RE: Audi A5 hard steering
Two options
1. Retrofit Audi drive select kit (COMFORT, AUTO and DYNAMIC) and select comfort (new gear shift trim if radio concert, ADS switch, harness), then code with VCDs 2. Preselect with VCDs the comfort steering mode rather than auto. Those sorted my audi B8 servotronic stiff steering while turning. RE: Audi A5 hard steering
Then probably you don't have servotronic ,because for A5's under 200hp this has been as additional option ,not standard.

RE: Audi A5 hard steering
Coding for comfort steering wheel mode: Note Servotronic is 1N3 (PR code) Check if you have this. If you dont many have retrofitted this.
Enable Audi Drive Select 09 Central Electric Byte 7 Bit 5 from 0 to 1 (enable ADS) Byte 8 Bit 0 from 0 to 1 (sport mode enabled S automatic mode) Byte 8 Bit 1 from 0 to 1 (servotronic steering) Byte 8 Bit 2 from 0 to 1 (throttle response) Byte 19: Bit 6 from 0 to 1 (enables ADS light on the control). Manual adjustment using counting method (dont enable this) 09 Central Electric then Security 16 Adapt 10. Set Channel 63 64 65 to 1 (comfort mode, all have to be the same) This way comfort mode stays preselected indefinitely, rather than auto. (otherwise these values were set to 2 - auto) After you are done you will be using ADS mode 1 (comfort) without having ADS. ADS just helps to change modes on on the console. If you have MMi (GPS) you also have individual mode in addition you can select modes on the screen - add the following in addition: Byte 17 ; Bit 7 change 0 to 1 (enable MMI display) Adaptations: [Security Access - 16] [Adaptation - 10] ; Channel 66 ; Change to 1 1 = Comfort 2 = Auto (Factory default) 3 = Dynamic - (Use this mode if you do not have MMI) 4 = Individual (Activates MMI "Individual" menu - Use this mode if you have MMI - GPS) |
