Hello,

I'm new to Mercedes, I'm quite advanced on coding bmw's.
I have purchased my first mercedes (2017 A Class, still the old model), with the comand online.
Can someone help me answering 3 questions please:

1. How do I figure out what NTG system I have? I believe this is the NTG5.5 but really not sure.

2. how do I know if new maps are available? With the comand online option, I have 3 years free map updates from dealer, but I do not want to go to the dealer every time and ask him to check if updates are available. I currently using Maps Europe V9.0 2018 for my comand online. Is there a website where I can check this for the European market?

3. Is coding a Mercedes as easy as coding a BMW (simple cable and software needed) or do you need more advanced hardware?

1.) Have a look at system information.
2.) If you have a COMAND install, it will advise when new maps update is available.
On the other side you can install for free COMAND DOWNLOAD MANAGER from official Website, put SD-CARD and check if new is available.

3.) See several threads here at the board!

1) Where do I find this information in the comand online menu? Can you guide me?
2) My Navigation data are on the HDD and not on a SD card. when I go on map version it tells me "Check with your Mercedes dealership for availability of new maps". I cannot believe there is not a way online to see if new maps are available or not.

Hi Simpaty...on your A class m.y. 2017 you have installed Comand NTG 5s1; last Europe map update is V11 but for install it you need pin that Mercedes dealer give it to you for free (3 years free update).

Hello,

I am trying to download the COMAND DOWNLOAD MANAGER but the only software I can find is the one where you need to insert an SD card, which I do not have, because my navigaiton is not on SD card.

However there seems to be a version of this software that can be used to download the comand online maps, I saw it in the screenshot visible on this page:

Is this "DOWNLOAD MANAGER COMAND" available somewhere for download?

Code for free = contract with MERCEDES BENZ which you pay one time and get during 3 years updates for free!
