Hi guys I updated my new 2018 BMW BMW 1 SERIES 116D SE BUSINESS

via ISTA + 

Programming via 4.14.14 ISTA + Programming was VERY good 100% stable volts held nice got a BMW and merc rated maintainer for coding cost around £700,

ICOM Original costing £1400, Updated firmware from BMW Portal DHCP set to the ICOM and Rooter checked working perfect, All green ticks on ISTA + programming and encoding went perfect Kombi and NBT all good (normally the ones that give trouble if no DHCP Set)

Car is now going mad indicators flashing alarm going off key doesn't lock or unlock car, Doors will not open drivers door is locked on the hatch for coding as always on F-G-I cars, Steering is locked on CAS seems dead, No crank nothing.

Major problem is the car will no longer talk via OBD E-NET or ZGW,

I got worried and fired up ISTA + again and now it's saying this,

.I don't know what's going on but the car is dead nothing is working now

I have warranty still will they know I used "fake Software" by fake I mean not resisted to them with it being a 2018 car I'm worried. And now thinking to get it recovered to BMW and saying it just died on me? and let them fix it,

Unless anyone has a fix for me it seems all units are now dead or stuck in abort mode or bootloader nothing works inside car or outside tired battery off for 15mins 1 hour and then a day nothing changes this 



   

Question is am I now screwed can't even connect to the car via E-SYS to try reset this is a nightmare for me...

Yes Did you try to disconnect the battery for 30 minutes? You should retry with ISTA 4.14.2x.

newer bmw cars have programming protection. I had some issues with 2017 DME programming, after flash ecu shows fault: Sofware manipulation waranty claim. Car work ok no warning lights.

Connect to car with another diagnostic device, AVDI, DELPHI, Launch and scan for ecu's, AVDI can flash without problems any ecu on car.

What caused the specific issue for this user? Was it because he used the latest version of ISTA?

I did a complete ECU update on a 2018 F30 (build date Jan 2018) using esys. No issues, no warning message.

Bad version of ISTA, incomplete sectors of flash files or communication interruption in flash process.

I use ISTA just for diagnose now, i bricked 2 BMW cars no more ISTA flash for me.

BMW service has 240 E full software update fee. Is not worth the trouble and risk for that money.
