Hi,

i have a laptop and a desktop. The database for update is on the desktop, g:\. Rheingold (standalone) ist installed on laptop, drive c:\. 
To update the data's/sdp's i started ista-launcher from laptop, it works fine. But now i had to reinstall w10... now it wont work...
I get the error "package install directory does not exist", look at the screenshot. But i have access to the location, see the second screenshot....
If i put the database-folder on the laptop, drive d:\ (and change the registry-entry, it works). But why didnt it work over the network?
The other way, database on laptop, and update on desktop works....
Firewall/Virus is windows-defender, tried all turn of, same result...
Could anybody help me?

G: is a Networkdrive, or?

Try direct \\server_ip\ISTA_Store

In Regfile "\\\\server_ip\\ISTA_Store"

Hi,

yes, g: is a drive on the desktop. but where i have to write the drive-letter?
Before formatting and installing w10 new it was working... The other way works (database on laptop, update the desktop...)

SEEN SIMLAR CRAP WITH WINDOWS 10 , is some default security setting .when coping new ista standalone I have to copy to c drive then move to x86 Rheingold , still no idea why good luck , I use dual boot w7x64 is lot more easy

Then don't you need to edit the files inside the ISTALauncher?

To the Address of the folder on the network example G:/Temp/ISTA_Store/Downloads

Also, you can MAP that device on the Network to Windows on your current computer so it takes over a new letter, for instance, you could make it A

Then edit the reg file

and edit the istalauncher-x64 A:\\Temp\\ISTA_Store

I think that might be the best idea for you.

i have tried this, too. Letter g, p, t. same result. istalauncher get no access, cmd get access. 

I tried to make a hard link as well, (mklink ...), same result, istalauncher get no access, cmd get access.

The way back, (base-files stored in laptop, drive-letter d:\ista_store\downloads), the access from the computer to the laptop works with istalauncher....

Hi,

now i have solved the problem. It seems to be a problem with uac, i put the unc-path in the registry, now it works. I thougt, i have done this before, too, but maybe i made a typing error....
