Hi All,

Anybody able to tell me is it possible to safely read/flash a 2010 Vw golf 1.6Tdi with Kess or mpps through obd port? or is it only able with Ktag?

You must diassembly ecu, use “UNLOCK FUNCTION”, in boot mode and after you can read/write safety on OBD.
Working both tools MPPS and KESS V2.

Or working without disassmbly but you must you use genuine tools.

depends if clone tool, or gen tool

gen tool will do all by obd now

clone tool need to remove ecu and unlock as said

hi ... and which engine control unit? and what should I do with it? ... I read the block id ... by id looking for the ori file \ in the ori file the ecology is disabled and it is written by obd kess ...

if your kess is clone tool- connect it on car on OBD, than choose car model type, example golf 6 1.6 105 hp pcr 2.1 , read ecu id, and if you see notice there ECU status - LOCKED, go to read ecu, u will read it sucessfuly, than into engine space under windshield wipers remove ecu from the car, open it, read eeprom, than unlock ecu on desk (follow kess instruction) after u unlock ecu , trow it back on car, than u will be able to write modified file.

IF you are without soldering experience, and if you are not professional think about it will you work on it.
BE aware that always is possible to screw something on soldering and opening ecu.
